While typical, hard-wired data warehouse solutions are quickly dated and require brittle, manual workarounds to satisfy evolving business demands, DIMS provides an extensible alternative.\nA key technological innovation underpinning DIMS is data virtualization. Just as hardware virtualization revolutionized management of computing resources by abstracting physical machines, data virtualization revolutionizes data management by abstracting physical data stores and schemas. Revelytix provides virtualized, real-time, unified access to any number of underlying data stores by exposing data stores as SPARQL end points. Abstracted in this manner, applications or reports can be created without prior knowledge or awareness of where and how data is stored - including data in Hadoop.\nRevelytix makes it easy for data scientists to create customized data sets in Hadoop clusters. Though any number of disparate data sets of arbitrary size can be dumped into Hadoop, the data schemas are different. Our technology consumes transformation instructions expressed in SQL or SPARQL and transforms the commands into map reduce jobs, producing transformed, integrated data sets. Our registry captures all metadata produced during the transformation process pipeline(s), displaying the metadata via user-friendly GUIs. \nCore to the Revelytix approach is the use of the Business Vocabulary, a/k/a a Domain Ontology, a formalized description of how the business defines its processes, procedures, data, and outcomes such as reports, analytics, or products. The Enterprise Data Management Council?s Financial Industry Business Ontology (FIBO) is an example of such a business vocabulary. Satisfying Dodd-Frank regulatory requirements is extremely difficult without a flexible, extensible means of data verification, rules management, and standardized terminology for describing financial instruments, counterparties, and regulatory metrics. This presentation will conclude with a demonstration of how Dodd-Frank rules can be accommodated using Revelytix software
